Hycroft Mining Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold and silver mine located an hour south west of Winnemucca, Nevada.

Job Description

The Surveyor is responsible to perform field surveyors, provide support to an open pit mine by interacting with engineering and operations for design, construction and/or reclamation projects. Collection of survey data, place pins, drive stakes for survey points by determining location.

Essential Functions

  • Updates appropriate conventional and electronic (GIS) files.

  • Perform survey and ore control projects as directed by Senior Engineer or Chief Geologist.

  • Establish and maintenance of survey controls in the mine-site operations area.

  • Set-out design control, drill holes, ore and waste blocks, and grade control on time according to work priorities and mine plan.

  • Complete Monthly volume survey of pits, stockpiles, waste dumps, and leach pads.

  • Training of others in surveying techniques to ensure adequate survey coverage is available.

  • Collect, report and maintain a record of survey data.

  • Administration and maintenance of survey equipment and control systems.

  • Develop a sense of continuous improvement on surveying processes and methods to improve, maximize and optimize work flow and processes.

  • Effective communication skills, as well as interpersonal, problem solving, basic math skills to perform routine calculations and recognize, correct and inform others when quality control is out of range.

Experience and Training

  • Minimum of one (1) to five (5) years’ experience in open pit mine operations preferred.

  • Knowledge of and skilled in the use of a variety of specialized equipment, tools and apparatuses used in performing surveys (e.g. rods, lasers, Trimble Geomatics, Leica,GIS, GPS, Vulcan Software).

  • Knowledge of surveying mathematics, field procedures, and operations, including GPS machine control.

  • Basic knowledge of survey software and mining CAD software a plus.

  • Effective communication skills, as well as interpersonal, problem solving, basic math skills to perform routine calculations and recognize, correct and inform others when quality control is out of range.
