POSITION SUMMARY

TheQA Documentation Specialist Iassists Quality Management in administration of the Quality departments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generates Oracle specifications based on technical data provided.

  • Enters data into Oracle and/or Excel spreadsheets and Stellent database.

  • Provides the required technical support for Quality Assurance documentation.

  • Compiles and submits monthly reports as assigned.

  • Coordinates flow of GMP documentation, e.g. internal and external audits, SOP control, change control, material approval documentation.

  • Submits purchasing requisitions.

  • Procures technical information from vendors.

  • Procures technical information for NOW’s specification sheets. Completes, verifies accuracy, and maintains raw material, WIP and finished product specifications.

  • Participates in and completes administrative project work as assigned.

  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

  • Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when employees see a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved.

  • Assists with communicating safety information to new employees.

  • Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Chemistry or Science from a four-year college or university

  • A minimum of one-year experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control, preferably in the dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical industries.

  • Working knowledge of Chemistry is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents common to the technical and operational functions such as product specifications, departmental instructions, procedure manuals, Certificates of Analysis, production records, and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.

  • Ability to speak and communicate in person, email, and telephone effectively and efficiently.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

OTHERS SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.

  • Must have working knowledge with spreadsheets and word processing software.

  • Must be willing to learn new computer skills and demonstrate functional use after training.

  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and assume responsibility for new tasks in a rapidly growing and changing company.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to handle multiple tasks, and able to communicate and work with others to complete assigned tasks.

  • Familiarity with the Oracle Applications Suite 11i/Oracle Process Management module desired.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
