Panasonic Big Data Analyst (PENA) in Sparks, Nevada
Job Summary:
The Big Data Analyst uses advanced analytical methods on multidimensional datasets for extracting, analyzing, and presenting data to resolve business problems and lead data-driven business decisions. The Analyst uses structured and unstructured internal datasets and identifies gaps in existing data that would lead to additional meaningful data insights. The Big Data Analyst performs statistical modeling and predictive analytics for recurring data analysis business cases and explores new available technologies to lead the company into a prescriptive analytics future.
Essential Duties:
Identify, validate and utilize existing structured and unstructured datasets to lead to advanced business insights
Understand and define technical requirements for processing multidimensional datasets within existing business system and operational data flow
Explore areas of gaps in in existing datasets for kickstarting new data acquisition projects based on business case
Collaborate with data development and engineering teams to process data for advanced statistical modeling and predictive analytics
Perform advanced ad-hoc data analyses to address business challenges
Create and maintain statistical models for recurring analysis use
Educate data consumers on logic and data assumptions within analyses to increase data ownership within cross-functional teams
Act as subject matter expert of processing multidimensional datasets
Create documentation for best practices and train fellow analysts on methods for selecting appropriate statistical methods based on use case
Explore new related technologies and systems and develop strategies for implementing advanced analytical techniques
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
Education:
Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related analytical field. Masters degree preferred.

Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 6+ years of professional or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with data interaction and usage in the following stages: acquisition, aggregation, analysis, and visualization
Good understanding and knowledge in algorithms and advanced statistics
Background and knowledge of data structures and data modeling
Programming skills for data analytics required (SQL, Python, R)
Must be able to learn and understand equipment capabilities, operation flow, and data flow logics
Business Intelligence software proficiency (Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire, etc.)
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Must be able to efficiently describe complex methods to cross-functional teams
Good project management and organizational skills required
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Able to work independently and in a team environment, as well as with cross-functional groups
Resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure
