Oracle System Administrator 4-IT in Reno, Nevada
Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.
Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Eight years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.

What You'll Do
o Take ownership of the architecture, analysis, design, implementation and production operations of a wide array of Core System Framework solutions
o Install, configure and administer complex technology platforms
o React to production deficiencies by continuously implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring to production systems
o Be a strong contributor to development of platform services including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support
o Partner with the distributed team in prototyping new platform services
o Stay informed of new technologies
What You Need to Have
To get past step one, you need to have the following knowledge, skills, and experience.
Education and Work Experience
BS Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a renowned institute.
7 years of experience with complex system administration and engineering.
Prior experience as a Operations Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
Infrastructure Automation Experience
in managing infrastructure/applications built on the following technology groups:
o Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Weblogic
o UNIX internals
o Wide array of technologies for scripted and orchestrated automation
Understanding and experience with CI/CD practices
Familiarity with security practices in web application delivery
Deep understanding of virtualization solutions and Cloud services
Strong knowledge of Linux-based OS internals
Software Development Experience
Experience with configuration management tools
Strong knowledge of internet protocols
Experience in troubleshooting network services
Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing or supporting high performance and large scale systems
Soft Skill Qualifications
Experience with Agile processes and general understanding of product development
Strong communication and analytical skills
Able to accurately estimate efforts and deliver on time
Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and work well in a fast paced, dynamic Operations environment
Willingness to learn new technologies
