Under the direction of the Manager and the clinical supervision of the Medical Director, the Psychiatrist provides clinical services to persons who have personal or interpersonal behavioral health and/or chemical dependency problems. This position is responsible for delivering intensive problem focused, recovery oriented services to individuals, couples, families and groups within regulatory and/or accrediting guidelines.
Nature and Scope:
The incumbent in this position must function within the team using high level clinical and interpersonal skills. The person is required to use sound assessment skills combined with good clinical judgment to efficiently mange a caseload. Caseloads at LifeSkills include planning, setting priorities and budgeting time to ensure smooth processes and completion of work in a timely manner.
The person in this position will assume responsibility for documenting all significant patient contact, in accordance with regulatory standards. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written and must be able to initiate contact with internal and external resources on behalf of the client (i.e. utilization review, EAP, medical records, etc.). This person must be able to perform in-service training and speak effectively to groups of patients, community organization members, at places of business, and at workshops.
This person must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served.
The Psychiatrist must provide optimal care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families.
This position is required to adhere to Renown Health's Scope of Practice for credentialing.
This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain State Board Certification in Psychiatry.
Experience as a licensed Physician specializing in psychiatry within the last 12 months required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada Board of Psychiatry certification or eligible for board certification required. Valid State of Nevada license to practice medicine required.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
