Oracle Director Corporate Network Engineering in Reno, Nevada

Work with a world class team to develop, implement, and support cutting edge Oracle technology.

Manages teams supporting and/or implementing multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and manages an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Successful track record as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of a number of related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.

ORACLE – CORPORATE NETWORK

The corporate networking team provides on-premise wired and wireless connectivity, global WAN, Internet, VPN, network security, tooling and automation services.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Corporate Network Engineering is responsible for providing leadership to a team chartered with accelerating network services development and deployment and supporting those services through a Devops model of continuous improvement. The Director’s team consists of skilled network and program specialists that blend experience and subject matter expert knowledge to radically evolve network design, leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and utilizing high levels of automation. A high level of interaction and understanding of business requirements across all Oracle lines of business is critical to the success of this role.

Leads teams supporting and implementing large and/or complex multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and manages an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Successful track record in the specialism and as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of a number of related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.

  • Leads staff in developing services for Corporate Networks that are frequently global and cross-functional

  • Collaborates with IT Leadership teams at the portfolio and program level to drive approved value streams and capabilities

  • Contributes to the Request Lifecycle to ensure work aligns with strategic vision

  • Participates in roadmap and budget planning across services

  • Drives engineering changes to deliver the corporate network strategy vision

  • Evolves and optimizes the Devops model to continuously drive improvements across corporate network services

  • Leads continued improvement through best in class tools, processes and organizational structure/staffing

  • Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy

Job Requirements

  • 10 years of experience as a project/program/portfolio manager with an emphasis on IT projects

  • 5 years of personnel management

  • Demonstrable track record in working with Agile methodologies and setting up DevOps teams

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience in delivery of complex global projects or programs with an understanding of Agile, Waterfall and Adaptive project management

  • Experience in Oracle IT processes and procedures

  • Demonstrable strength in communication, collaboration and teamwork

  • Demonstrable ability to adapt, manage and lead quickly and effectively through change and shifting priorities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
