Position Purpose:

Under the direction of the leadership ofRenown Healthy Hearts Program, provides direct patient care, and coordinates patient services within the center. The incumbent provides physical, social, spiritual and psychological support to cardiac rehab patients and their families, as well as telemetry monitoring, exercise prescription, and risk factor education.

Nature and Scope:

This position assists adult and geriatric patients (and their families) in the process of rehabilitation after a cardiac event.

The incumbent may visit patients in the hospital to introduce them to the concept of cardiac rehab in general, and the program in particular when applicable.

The incumbent may conduct orientation classes in the center, perform EKG's and Talk Tests, and supervise patient exercise programs (monitored and non-monitored).

The incumbent personally assists patients and their families through the use of bulletin boards, literature, and audio-visual aids and referrals in making beneficial life-style changes.

Assists EKG Techs in decision-making regarding patients.

Follows ACLS guidelines for treating patients in the event of an emergency.

The incumbent demonstrates and supervises the use of rehab equipment to patients and new staff (treadmill, stationary bicycle, wall pulleys, free weights, rowing machine, and arm ergometer, etc.).

It is common to encounter potential hazards in the healthcare environment. Some of these hazards could include, but are not limited to: Radiation, Toxic Chemicals, Biological Hazards, Heat, Noise, Dust and Stress. Renown Health has a Safety Management Program in place addressing these issues.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred


Graduate of an accredited nursing program, either with an Associate's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in nursing. Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.




Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.


ACLS certification required within 6 months. Applicants with CCRN, CEN, or similar certification may be given preference

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
