MGM Resorts International VP Finance Shared Services in Las Vegas, Nevada

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Senior Vice President FSSC in executing the strategy of the Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) and oversee operating departments within the FSSC to ensure accuracy of financial information; compliance with MGM policies and procedures, compliance with SOX, gaming regulations, and other internal control requirements; and to manage personnel within the FSSC.

The Vice President FSSC is expected to be a progressive agent for process improvement, looking for opportunities to generate savings for the company through efficiencies and increase the effectiveness of processes – both within FSSC and in the operating areas we interact with. The Vice President FSSC should also be an advocate for FSSC within MGM and externally in dealing with other shared services, and other companies, to build a network of contacts to help advance the FSSC’s maturity as a shared services center. The Vice President FSSC should work to develop employee engagement and career paths/opportunities for existing FSSC employees (particularly leadership development in EDs and Directors for succession planning), as well as design and participate in recruitment and hiring programs for new employees who fit the culture and requirements of FSSC.

  • Design and implement programs to meet the strategic objectives of FSSC.

  • Assist the SVP in communicating the strategy, objectives, results and status of FSSC programs/initiatives to senior management, key clients, other key stakeholders, department personnel; and in presentations to outside parties.

  • Oversee, manage and participate in projects for systems implementations.

  • Consult with business and other resources to gain an understanding of industry trends and new initiatives.

  • Make recommendations to Senior Management regarding best-practices including adoption of new trends and initiatives.

  • Maintain an effective relationship between FSSC, the business unit, other corporate departments and ensures effective operational processes.

  • Maintain and enhance client service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements as well as promotion of service oriented approach within all functional responsibilities.

  • Oversee, drive, communicate and be accountable for shared service strategies that deliver high quality, cost effective and value support services across MGM Resorts.

  • Oversee and direct the allocation of resources, performance and any competing requirements to meet internal customer expectations, SLA performance thereby enabling achievement of business case benefits realization.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of programs to recruit, hire and train personnel and develop leadership skills among the EDs and Directors to ensure proper succession planning.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • 10 years of hospitality accounting or finance experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

Preferred:

  • 12 years of supervisory experience

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.

  • Experience in a hotel/casino finance area.

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification

  • PMP certified

  • Knowledge and experience with MGM Resorts International financial systems (Infinium, AS400, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Cognos Bi, ACL, Daylight, Opera, Archtics, etc.)
