Humana Technology Strategy Advancement Advisor (Remote-US) in Las Vegas, Nevada
The Technology Strategy Advancement Advisor will advise IT Leaders in long-term strategic planning across the Shared Corporate Solution (SCS) focus areas to drive IT Infrastructure evolution for Humana. This will be accomplished by developing, refreshing and governing the long-term (3-5 year) infrastructure capability strategy and roadmaps. The Technology Strategy Advancement Advisor will build strategic partnerships and manage relationships with IT and business leaders to ensure alignment of long-term strategy with overarching IT and business strategies.
The Technology Strategy Advancement Advisor leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
The qualified candidate should have strong background in Information Technology with solid understanding of network infrastructure or IT Operations, be a strategic thinker, act as a change agent, and a results-driven leader. This leader needs to have demonstrated experience driving large-scale transformative initiatives by developing business cases, influencing decision-makers, aligning diverse stakeholders and using communication and change management strategies effectively. They will be well versed with technology best practices, regularly digest the ever-changing Healthcare and Technology landscape, enjoy research emerging technologies and maintain a strong external network to co-create superior strategies that support Humana's mission.
Implement people, process and technology changes to sustain and transform infrastructure maturity to achieve SCS, IT and Humana goals.
Build and maintain relationships with key cross-functional senior IT and Business leadership to understand existing IT and Business landscapes, operating models, risks and emerging technology trends.
Responsible for the development, refresh and governance of the long-term (3-5 year) SCS strategy and roadmaps
Drives alignment of strategy and objectives across SCS organization and partners
Facilitate requirements elicitation workshops, strategy and risk planning sessions and guide high-level discussions to build and evolve long term vision and plans.
Manages prioritization process for strategic-level work
Leads hands-on development of functional or initiative level strategy where additional help or focus may be needed
Acts as objectives and key results (OKR) ambassador for SCS
Effectively influence key senior leaders and stakeholders outside of direct control of this role to deliver optimal solutions in line with the best interests and expectations of SCS infrastructure capability transformation.
Conduct executive level briefings, presentations and solution recommendations
Influence others at multiple organizational levels, to lead and work in a team environment; ability to lead collaborative efforts with user, development, business and support groups
Develop metrics and reporting that align with IT strategy and maturity goals
Initiate and drive enterprise-wide maturity assessments and engagements with external third party partners
Remain current on emerging technology trends, products, evolving threat landscape, and contemporary capabilities
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
8+ years experiencing working in an Information Technology focused on IT Infrastructure, Operations, or Business Critical Applications
5+ years leading business impacting cross-functional IT projects, teams, programs or directing allocation of resources.
Experience with IT Infrastructure planning - including IT Architecture Design, Network Capacity Planning and Cloud Design & Migration Planning
Experience driving enterprise-level business transformations
Broad technology knowledge including understanding of operations, technology, communication and processes.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of execution and delivery in strategic, high visibility areas.
Demonstrated change management skill successfully promoting change by helping others to change and remove barriers
Flexible and adaptable dealing with ambiguous situations
Negotiation skills with the ability to obtain consensus with internal key stakeholders and external regulators and vendors
Consulting skills to assimilate business knowledge and knowledge of internal customer's unique needs/situation, providing options and tools to help make informed decisions.
Research and Analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
Observational skills to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation.
An general understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice, prefer experience with several Software Development Life Cycles in a team environment.
Challenger skillset to teach, tailor and take control of opportunity definition & initiation with business partners
Strategic communication skills to be able to simplify the complex with proven experience presenting to top level executives.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
10+ years experiencing working in an Information Technology focused on IT Infrastructure, Operations, or Business Critical Applications
10+ years of progressive experience leading continuous improvement efforts, evaluating existing systems and implementing process improvements
5+ years of experience collaborating with IT Executive Leadership
7+ years of experience in a fast-moving, high-tech business environment, implementing enterprise scale initiatives.
Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
Experience creating multi-year strategic plans, aligning investment dollars with business value outcomes, and facilitating workforce management planning and organization to right-size organizations.
Proven experience planning and implementing large-scale network infrastructure and cloud migration initiatives.
Will report to the Lead, Technology Solutions, IT SCS - Strategy, Portfolio, Gov and Culture
