Pharmacist Consultant/Clinical Quality PS40967

*Atlanta, Mason, and Las Vegas office locations preferred

The Pharmacist Consultant is responsible for supporting disease management programs and physician care plans through reviewing clinical quality calls for accuracy and compliance for Spanish-speaking program participants.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for conducting clinical quality audits of pharmacists providing pharmaceutical care to members, telephonically, by conducting Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) for Polypharmacy, drug allergies, clinical effectiveness, cost effective drug selection, dose optimization, contraindications, adverse effects, potential drug interactions, therapeutic outcomes and adherence.

  • Reviews, Evaluates, and verifies medication recommendations provided to members through recorded telephonic contacts.

  • Determines potential barriers to compliance and identifies solutions to overcome barriers.

  • Tracks and Trends quality scores to provide leadership reporting.

  • Develops and maintains Quality department policies and procedures

  • Serves as a resource to the clinical team in disease management and other clinical areas.

  • Conducts In-house training support as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state GA, OH or Nevada required.

  • Requires an RPh; 2 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

  • PharmD preferred.

  • Prior call center experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with direct patient counseling or education preferred.

  • Experience working with members and providers on Medication Therapy Management to optimize medication use required.

  • MTM Certification a plus.

  • Experience performing quality audits a plus

  • Ability to multi-task is essential.

  • Attention to detail

  • Proficient written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

  • May require response during non-standard hours.

  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish preferred.
