What You Will Do:
Monitor databases for proper performance
Install upgrades and maintain systems
Manage storage for all applications
Manage security and report incidents
Server configuration, migration, and other implementations
Monitor root cause analysis and resolutions
Plan, design and implement next database architecture
Work with development staff to optimize existing queries
Optimize existing data sets through the addition of indexes or other means
Install and maintaining servers and environments
Manage back-ups and recovery procedures
Create custom monitoring and maintenance plans
Administering and testing new upgrades and databases
Troubleshoot and resolve database problems
Ensure audit trails are maintained and documented
What You Will Need :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or related field
3 to 5 years MySQL server database experience or database administration experience in a commercial environment or equivalent work experience
Experience with the following: MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 Administration; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012; SQL Server Database Administration 2008 R2 and/or 2012; CentOS Linux, RedHat Linux.
Experience with database migration, performance tuning, and optimization, and setting up and managing database connections
Familiar with SQL Reporting services including creating, modifying, and managing custom reports
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
Essential Functions/Exposures:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to type and talk on the phone for extended periods of time
