POSITION SUMMARY:



The Financial Analyst will assist the department manager in maintaining the general ledger system and other accounting/financial responsibilities. The Financial Analyst will complete the assigned monthly closing related journal entries and reports, re-class incorrect entries, reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, assist with the budgeting process, file various State of Nevada reports, complete daily cash transfers to corporate, and submit weekly staffing reports.

This position plays a lead role in facility process improvement projects by performing operational assessments and analyses, researching and identifying best practices, facilitating groups and teams, managing projects, presenting results and recommendations, and developing measurement tools, to improve Southern Hills Hospital operating processes toward greater efficiency and effectiveness. This position serves as support to hospital management, staff, and teams in the areas of process improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: * Strong computer skills (Excel, Business Objects, Web Based Program, etc.). * Communication skills, personnel management skills and financial management skills. * Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and objective in judgment. * Wide scope of activities relating to all aspects of the financial operation of the hospital. * Requires the ability to develop working partnerships with all levels of management. * Requires positive interpersonal skills. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum 3 years' experience in the health care industry.* Familiar with accounting/finance principles and procedures. * Proficient in Access and Excel. *EDUCATION:



Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting or Finance.
