  • Receives and responds to maintenance calls in the hotel and casino from guests and other departments.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs lighting fixtures, systems, plumbing, and electrical issues.

  • Performs repairs on kitchen equipment in the building.

  • Assesses and performs general repairs on all floor covering and/or upholstery.

  • Performs welding and fabrication.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment including heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, fan coils, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers, and energy management systems.

  • Works with power ranging from low to medium voltages.

  • Operates scissor and boom lifts, and climbs ladders to access elevated areas such as ceilings and catwalks.

  • Troubleshoots electrical systems, motor controls, lighting and dimming systems, and UPS systems.

  • Operates and maintains appropriate tools and equipment daily for troubleshooting on property or site.

  • Keeps informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods.

  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

  • Drives and operates company vehicles to and from various MGM Resorts International properties.

  • Responds to and resolves guest complaints in a timely manner and creatively solves problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties.

  • Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of guests and limits requests for information pertaining to guests in accordance with hotel policies.

  • Maintains a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Park MGM standards

  • Works under pressure and in an emergency with a calm and rational demeanor

  • Works under minimal supervision, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner

  • Perception and awareness of the Hotel’s maintenance goals and policies

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Two (2) years of experience in at least one of the following related trades as they pertain to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, certified locksmith, welding and fabrication, floor covering, or pool operator.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms


  • One (1) years of experience with a casino and/or hotel resort operation or similar setting.

  • Five (5) years of previous experience working in related trades.

  • Five (5) years of experience in the hospitality industry or similar environment preferred.

  • CPO Certification

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting


  • Driver’s License.

  • Driving Record from DMV.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States


  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and other departments

  • Knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of equipment to include gas, steam, electrical and plumbing

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms

  • Ability to solder and thread pipe

  • Withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching to perform job duties

  • Ability to climb ladders onto raised areas and work from scaffolding

  • Ability to effectively communicate in person and by phone with management, employees, and guests

  • Effective listening skills with strong judgment abilities

  • General mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • Capable of operating skyjack, forklift, scissor lift, or other heavy equipment

  • Wear a tool belt weighing at least 30 lbs. and regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.

  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other employees while working under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and depth perception

  • Work around indoor environmental conditions such as varying noise levels, varying lighting levels, dust, cigarette smoke and odors

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks while wearing personal protective gear

  • Ability to withstand regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat and cold conditions when working outdoors
