MGM Resorts International Director Title 31 Audit (Corporate) in Las Vegas, Nevada

The primary responsibility of the Title 31 Audit Director is to become an integral resource for the MGM Resorts community as a whole as it relates to adherence of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) laws and regulations. The Title 31 Audit department will audit, review and analyze financial transactions to ensure that they are properly logged and reported across all lines of business, as well as look for possible suspicious activity, money laundering and/or violations of Title 31 regulations. Analyze transactions utilizing internal systems and reports, as well as external systems and tools. Partner and communicate with department in the organization to gather information and develop consistent practices. Perform diverse duties to support the Financial Investigation Department / Corporate Compliance. All duties are to be performed in accordance with MGM Resorts International policies and procedures.

Must be detail oriented and possess ability to perform analysis, documentation and findings related to casino transactions. Candidate must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, as well as the internet. Candidate must have the ability to perform under pressure, and handle stress. Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess the highest level of professional ethics and integrity.

  • Assist in designing and developing programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all business units are in compliance with Federal Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and applicable State and Federal reporting requirements.

  • Perform and review Anti-Money Laundering investigations; providing analysis and documentation.

  • Clearly describe casino transaction details, research and support your recommendations.

  • Use investigating tools to conduct extensive research such using the Internet, subscription sites, internal systems and spreadsheets.

  • Assists Corporate Compliance Executive Director as needed.

  • Oversees Title 31 departmental staff.

  • Updates / Maintains knowledge of State/Federal Regulation, MICS, ICS, Titles and Codes as they relate to Anti-Money Laundering and Suspicious Activity.

  • Solid knowledge of casino systems and the overall function of auditing.

  • Prepares compliance status reports for internal management and regulatory agencies as required.

  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

  • Perform other job related duties as requested.

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in the area of Finance, Accounting, Business or other related field.

  • At least 5 years of audit experience.

  • At least 3 years of managerial experience.

  • Assign personnel, organize work, set priorities, and maintain a high level of autonomy, responsibility and authority.

  • Develop, adopt and monitor MGM Resorts International policies and guidelines and monitor compliance with all required Regulatory demands.

  • Identify and investigate suspicious activity.

  • Evaluate performance of the compliance staff.

  • Hire, promote and commend staff.

  • Approve and monitor budget and expenses.

  • Develop and evaluate viable solutions and alternatives for improving compliance.

  • Make decisions and take appropriate action.

  • Establish and maintain priorities.

  • Effectively develop and use resources.

  • Identify the need for and assure the establishment of appropriate administrative procedures.

  • Reason logically and creatively and use a variety of analytical techniques to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Able to lead and mentor a team.

  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
