The Director BI Business Solutions is responsible for collaborating with the Executive Director in developing the strategy and leading the team that builds and optimizes data visualization products that turn complex data into accountable insights. These products allow Company leadership to understand key information and easily interpret data-driven stories and enhance decision making. The Director executes on the strategy to support the organization leading the cross-functional working teams responsible for building MGM’s self-service reporting environment and divisional integrated products with clearly defined roadmaps and project plans.

  • Leads the self-service reporting strategy and vision across the Enterprise Analytics organization

  • Collaborates with Senior Leadership and internal team to align self-service reporting with business strategies

  • Leads the BI Business Solutions team in execution of interactive dashboards and drill-through reporting

  • Ensures best practices are used Enterprise-wide by working with internal and external partners to ensure leading practices

  • Manages adherence to consistent approaches, metrics, terminology, etc. across all work products

  • Identifies business requirements and collaborates with Business Intelligence – Data Services for execution and Information Management development

  • Develops dashboards and interactive reports and tools across aligned functional area(s) and properties

  • Directs and influences the process used to create effective data hierarchies used for drill-through reporting and work with key stakeholders to help execute on defined KPIs the BI Business Solutions team will create for drill-through reporting

  • Drives ownership of the demand management process through reviewing, prioritizing, and reporting on Property / Corporate requests to the Executive Director and communicating key requirements to the team for development

  • Communicates and reviews findings with the Executive Director Enterprise Reporting and business partners

  • Train and mentor BI Business Solutions team to build and understand data modeling

  • Manages and balances new insight demands with currently in-progress projects

  • Provides inputs to value measurement process to ensure business results are achieved

  • Networks externally to seek innovation

  • Manages Human Resources responsibilities for the specifically assigned areas; create and maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Visualization, BI Business Solutions, Business Management, or related field

  • 7+ years of subject area expertise, industry or functional experience in translating complex large data sets into data visualization that follows natural hierarchies to ensure insights and opportunity identification

  • Technical functional knowledge of BI strategy and tools

  • Advance level knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting and visualization software (Microsoft Power BI, Cognos, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Leadership experience

  • MBA or MS degree

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting or hospitality industry
