PAE as federal contractor located at the Naval Air Station Fallon is seekingiaiqualifiediAircraft Mechanic - Powerplants.iiPrimary Function:i Performs removal/installation, cleaning, inspection, repair and replacement of Airframe and Power Plant systems components and accessories. All work is performed in accordance with applicable manufacturer maintenance manuals, customer, company directives and other approved data. May be requested to perform Leadman duties when designated and authorized. May be required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.i Must be customer oriented.iQualification Standards: Aircraft mechanics shall have three years experience in theirspecific aircraft maintenance occupational field. The last two years must have been as a practicing licensed FAA airframe and power plants mechanic; in the military (E-5 or above); civil service (WG-7-10), or with a government aviation maintenance Contractor.i Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.i Personnel shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned, i.e., iOi or iIi level. The mechanic will be capable of cross-training into or assisting other specialties as directed by management. All mechanics will be Plane Captain certified IAW a Government approved certification program for each TMS of aircraft.i Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.i Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.i Must read, write, speak, and understand English.iiPhysical Demands: This classification activity requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop/hanger/flight line maintenance activities to include bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling and working in tiring, uncomfortable positions, etc. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.iWork Environment: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
